Loto Joseph Louviere, Jr.

Loreauville –Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Loto Joseph Louviere, Jr., 77, on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville with Rev. Darren Eldridge, Pastor of St. Mathilda Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 9:00 AM until the time of Funeral Mass. A Recitation of the Rosary will be prayed on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with the Men’s Rosary Group.

A native and resident of Loreauville, Loto went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 6:05 AM at Iberia Medical Center. He was a mechanic for 37 years at Gondron's Garage and was a truck driver for 12 years at Channel Specialty. Loto served 8 years as a Loreauville Town Alderman. He was active in his church community as well. He cooked for many years for the annual St. Joseph's Church Bazaar. He enjoyed going to "the Bayou" (casino), mowing his lawn and anyone else's, cooking for his family and friends. He was known as “Mr. Fix It” and would gladly work on anything that was broken. Mr. Louviere enjoyed hunting doves, working crossword puzzles, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and loved a good joke as well as his witty comebacks to all. He especially loved family time and playing with the grandkids and great-grandkids.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gail Gondron Louviere of Loreauville; children, Annette Ronsonet and husband Thomas of Loreauville, Warren Louviere and wife Donna of New Iberia and Joan Berard and husband Stephen of New Iberia; brothers, Irving Louviere and wife Agnes of Faubourg and Larry Louviere and wife Connie of Loreauville; sister, Linda Guillot and husband Jerry of Faubourg; grandchildren, Kirby Ronsonet and Jeanne, Willie Ronsonet and Lyndsie, Brynn Borres and Brock, Kandis DeRouen and Jade, Jacob Berard, Ashley Berard and Eli Berard; great-grandchildren, Emma Arnaud, Bennett Arnaud, Max Borres, Lyla Ronsonet, Livi Ronsonet and Loa Ronsonet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loto Joseph Louviere, Sr. and Leah Berthelot Louviere; nephew, Kenneth Louviere; nephew, Francois Guillot and great-grandson, Hayes Borres.

Pallbearers will be Warren Louviere, Thomas Ronsonet, Stephen Berard, Larry Louviere, Jacob Berard and Eli Berard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kirby Ronsonet, Willie Ronsonet, Jade DeRouen, Brock Borres and Bennett Arnaud.
