Fay Boutte Thomas

New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Fred Thomas, Sr., the former Fay Boutte, 84, at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 22, 2017, in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 21, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Friday, December 22, 2107, at 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. A rosary will be prayed by the Men’s Rosary Group on Thursday in the funeral home at 7:00 PM.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Thomas passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 11:40 AM in a St. Martinville nursing facility.

She is survived by her sons, Zie S. Thomas, Sr. and his wife Linda L. of Loreauville and Fred A. “Fredy” Thomas Jr. and his wife Ellen B. of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Zie S. Thomas, Jr. and his wife Lauren of Lafayette, Sheri Kay Sorrel and her husband Steven of New Iberia, Ariana Thomas of Loreauville, Allison Thomas and her fiancé Drew Lasseigne and Emily Thomas all of New Iberia and her great grandchildren, Zachary Thomas, Gabrielle Sorrel and Madison Sorrel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred August “Fido” Thomas, Sr.; her parents, Simon Boutte and Esme Boutte Boutte; her son, Timothy Thomas and her great grandchildren, Madison Fuqua, Morgan Fuqua, Seth Sorrel and Brie Sorrel.

Pallbearers will be Zie Thomas, Sr., Zie Thomas, Jr., R. J. Boutte, Drew Lasseigne, Ricky Bourque and Fredy Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Sorrel and Steve Boutte.
