Jerry Dean Suit

New Iberia - Private funeral services were conducted for Mr. Jerry Dean Suit, 90, on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 2:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel. Ms. Stephanie Leleux, Hospice Chaplin, officiated and burial followed at the mausoleum on the grounds of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church.

A native and former resident of Ames, Oklahoma, and a current resident of New Iberia, Louisiana, Mr. Suit was born on April 12, 1927, and he passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 10:00 PM. He was a retired drilling superintendent for Sun Oil & Gas for whom he had worked for over thirty years. He valued hard work and particularly enjoyed fishing, as well as watching all sports. He particularly enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball, basketball, and hockey. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Margaret Thomason Suit; his daughter, Janice Suit Bethancourt of Houma; his son, Jerry Eugene Suit and wife, Jeanette Comeaux Suit of Milam, Texas; and his son, Kevin Riley Suit and wife Inés Bedia Suit of New Iberia; his granddaughters, Cristy Bethancourt Crispino and her husband, Johnny of Houma; and Julie Bethancourt Leonard and her husband, Cory, of Houma; and his grandsons, Joey Bethancourt, and his wife, Wendy, of Saraland, Alabama; Benjamin R. Suit, and Zachary J. Suit of New Iberia; his great grandchildren Ian Crispino, Evan Crispino, Lauren Leonard, and Allison Leonard, all of Houma; and Caleb Edmonds and Cayden Bethancourt of Saraland, Alabama; as well as nieces, nephews, and other family members from Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Suit and Pauline Holston Suit; his sister, Peggy Suit Brooks; his brother, Clint Suit; his son-in-law, Joey Bethancourt; and his grandson, Joshua Eric Suit.

Pallbearers were Joey Bethancourt, Benjamin R. Suit, Zachary J. Suit, Johnny Crispino, Ian Crispino and Cory Leonard. Honorary pallbearer were John Thomason, his brother-in-law.
