New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Richard Carline, 80, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 4:00 PM at David Funeral Home with Dr. James Hodges officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 1:00 PM until time of service in the funeral home.
A native of Jeanerette and a resident of New Iberia, Richard went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 3:38 PM at the Iberia Medical Center. Two main goals in his life were to make his eightieth birthday and be married at least forty years. He loved his two dogs and cats and enjoyed spending time with them. His greatest joy in life was working for Tide Water Marine and it was reflected in his favorite saying, “I am a Tide Water Marine man foremost above all.” Richard received many awards for safety in the 47 years he served as an Operations Manager and had a supply vessel named after him, the Carline Tide.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jessie Eyles Carline of New Iberia; children, David Carline of Patterson, Diana Landry and husband Hank of Stevensville, Roxanne Carline and husband Jimmy of Berwick, Ernest Carline and wife Melanie of Berwick, Lesley Carter and husband Alastair of Jacksonville, MS, Robert Carline of Stevensville and Cara Wheaton and husband Ken of Brooklyn, NY; brother, Jack Carline and wife Jay of Berwick; sister, Jane Robicheaux and husband Nolan of New Iberia; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eunice Carline; mother, Leona Borel Carline; son, Johnny Carline; brother, Peter Carline; sisters, Marie Carline, Elmire C. Daigle and Betty Boudreaux.
