Loretta Dressel

Loreauville—A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Loretta H. Dressel on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 117 Main Street at 2:00 PM with Rev. Barry Crochet officiating. Reader for the service will be Ericka Huval Dees and gift bearers will be Mylee Maturin and Brylee Thomas. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Mausoleum in Loreauville.

Visitation for Loretta will be held at David Funeral Home located at 118 North Main Street on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 9:00 AM until the time of service. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM by the Men’s Rosary Group at David Funeral Home.

Loretta Huval Dressel, age 88, was a lifelong resident of Loreauville. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 1:17 PM at her residence in Loreauville.

Loretta worked for Vida Sugar Mill for over 10 years and Bayou Teche Water Works for over 18 years.

She loved spending time with her family, working in her yard. She spent many of Sunday afternoon with her best friend Cecile and the gang she truly loved spending time and playing cards. She was a devoted Catholic, member of the Catholic Daughter of America and the Ladies Alter Society.

Loretta is survived by her daughter, Genevieve “Jan” Dressel Romero and husband Terry M. Romero of Loreauville; brother, Joseph Huval; grandchildren, Chanley Maturin and companion Megan Abshire of Coteau, Carie Segura and husband Keith W. Segura of Coteau, Shawna Romero of Loreauville, Chaz Maturin of Coteau, Cameron Segura of Coteau, Kyle Segura of Coteau, Keith Segura, Jr. of Coteau, Cody Segura of Coteau and Kaleb Segura of Coteau, Ceegan Segura of Coteau, Kenzie Segura of Coteau, Mylee Maturin, Brylee Thomas and she had 4 Great Great-Grandchildren.

Loretta is preceded by her husband, Lloyd C. Dressel, her parents, Preston and Agnes Trahan Huval and infant sister, Genevive Huval; sister, Jeanette H. Labit and sister-in-law Lorraine Huval.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chanley Maturin, Chaz Maturin, Sexon Labit, Jr., Burney Huval, Eric Huval and Carroll Trahan.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Heart of Hospice for all the loving care and compassion they showed towards Loretta and the rest of our family.
