Loreauville—A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Louis Prince on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 117 North Main Street with Fr. Paul Onuegbe officiating the services. Entombment at All Saints Catholic Mausoleum located on Harold Landry Rd to follow.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018, beginning at 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM at David Funeral Home of Loreauville located at 118 North Main Street, with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 8:00 AM until the time for service.
Louis Prince passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 4:07 AM at the age of 93, at his residence in Loreauville. A lifelong resident of Loreauville, Louis was born on February 3, 1925, to Sidney and Chlotille Aucoin Prince.
Mr. Louis Prince was a veteran of World War II. He served 2 years in the United States Army from June 14, 1944, to January 19, 1946. Some of the places he got to see while in the military were London, England and Berlin, Germany. He got to see first-hand the horrors of what took place in the Jewish Concentration Camps.
After he was released from the military, he became a lightweight boxer. Shortly after returning home to Texas and then moved to Louisiana where he married his wife of 65 years, Marietta Judice, and together had 2 children, Gale Prince Holmes and Gary Louis Prince.
Mr. Louis Prince will be greatly missed.
Louis is survived by his daughter, Gale Prince Holmes and her husband Kendall and son, Gary Louis Prince and his wife Paulette Crochet Prince and one grandchild, Jacob Paul Prince.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marietta Judice Prince; parents, Sidney and Chlotille Aucoin Prince ; grandchild, Jordan Michael Prince; brothers, Moris Prince, Cleve Prince, Julis Prince, Percy Prince, Sidney Prince, Whitney Prince, Sandy Prince and Wilbert Story; sisters, Olive Mire, and Cora Melancon.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Nolton Prince, Errol Verret, Jr., Ronnie Prince, Jimmy Mire, Barney Gonsoulin, Kendall Holmes, Nick Riely, and Johnny Melancon
A special thanks to the Staff of Iberia Medical Center, Dr. George Cousin, the Physicians and the home health company Intrepid for all their loving care and compassion they showed to Mr. Louis and his family
