Visitation will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 8:30 AM until the time of service at David Funeral Home, 118 S. Main Street. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with the Men’s Rosary Group.
A native of Loreauville and a resident of New Iberia, he passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 8:50 PM at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by family and friends. Rogers worked for fourteen years with Berard Transportation as a shop and maintenance employee. He was also served in the Loreauville Volunteer Fire Department for twelve years and was employeed with Air Logistics over fifteen years. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, godfather, brother and friend, he was a kind and gentle soul who left us way to soon, leaving a void that will never be filled. His smile and laughter were infectious, and his heart was as big as he was. Those who knew him, loved him. Rogers enjoyed boating, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and taking care of his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jackie Hicks Courville of Loreauville; son, Scott Courville and wife Crystal of Loreauville; daughter, Alita Courville and fiancé David LeBlanc of Loreauville; grandchildren, Matthew Albert, Christina Albert, Cassidy Couville, Adrian Albert and Cameron Courville; one sister, Theresa Louviere and husband Senac of Loreauville; three brothers, LeRoy Courville and wife Gloria of Loreauville, Donald Courville of Loreauville and Roy Courville and wife Louise all of New Iberia; godsons, Donnie Paul LeBlanc, Jimmy Courville, Kevin Courville, Donald Courville, Jr. “T-Don” and Luke Romero; goddaughters, Chrissie Hicks Broussard and April Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Anne P. Courville; brother, Dudley Courville; infant grandchild Baby Albert; sisters-in-law, Debbie B. Courville and Mae Courville; father-in-law, Harry Hicks; mother-in-law, Margie Ruggles; brother-in-law, Chad Romero.
Pallbearers will be Scott Courville, Roy Courville, Donald Courville, LeRoy Courville, David Leblanc and Matthew Albert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Courville, Jason Boudreaux, David Tilley, Brad Courville, Brent Porier, Alton Porier, Chris Pelous, Dalton Thibodeaux, Douglas Courville, Earl Gondron, Barry Thibodeaux and Johnny Berard.
