Ulysse "Rat" Hebert

Jeanerette—Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 10:00 AM for Mr. Ulysse “RAT” Hebert at David Funeral Home Chapel located at 400 Provost Street Jeanerette, LA with Fr. Jody Simoneux officiating the services.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at 9:00 AM until closing at 9:00 PM at David Funeral Home located at 400 Provost Street Jeanerette, LA and will resume on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 8:00 AM until the time of service.

Mr. Ulysse “RAT” Hebert was a lifelong resident of Jeanerette. He was born to Clafair and Edmay Duval Hebert on November 12, 1926.  He passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 8:15 AM at Mason Tech Nursing at the age of 91 years old.

Ulysse, served in the United States Navy beginning July 31, 1944, till his Honorable Discharge on July 12, 1946, serving as a Fireman First Class during World War II. After his discharge, he spent 28 years working for Lofton Brothers and then became the owner-operator of Hebert’s Grocery for 23 years.

He loved spending time with his friends and family. He was a very loving family man.

Ulysse is survived by his children; Sterling Hebert and his wife Karen of St. Martinville, Alvin Hebert and his wife Rebecca of Jeanerette, Norman Hebert, Sr. and his wife Jerry of Catahoulla and Peggy Myers Dubois and her husband Clareance of New Iberia; grand-children , Kevin Hebert, Theresa Hebert, Brandy Sanders, Angel Mcquire, Alita Dubois, T-Jay Dubois, Aquita Fredericks, Dusty Dubois, Jessica Hebert, Angie Hebert, Nicole Hebert, and Casey Hebert; twenty-two great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mercedes Ronsonet Hebert; parents, Clafair and Edmay Duval Hebert; sister, Joy Rita Hebert Griffin, and grandson, Norman Hebert, Jr.
