Alverda Copell Bourque

Pecan Island – Funeral Service for Mrs. Alverda Copell Bourque, 89, will be held at 9:00AM on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at David Funeral Chapel of Abbeville.  Interment will follow at Pecan Island Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM.  Visitation will resume on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 8:00AM until the time of the services.

A native and resident of Pecan Island, Mrs. Bourque died at 2:40AM on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Vermilion Healthcare Center.  She was known for her love to read the Bible, singing, and crocheting.  Mrs. Alverda also enjoyed feeding and entertaining people.

She is survived by two sons, Alvin Neil Bourque and Clark Fenton Bourque; a daughter, Suzanne Vaughn; a sister, Adley Copell Miller; seven grandchildren, Vicki, Nichole Robyn, Crystal, Lacie, Quentin, Ryan, and Ashley; eight great grandchildren, Lauren, Trever, Collin, Michael, Noah, Ainsley, Alexander, and Silas James; and two great great grandchildren, Aiden and Cooper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Joseph “T-Al” Bourque; her parents, O’Neal and Ezora Dyson Copell; a daughter, Ann Lorraine “Yany” Bourque; a granddaughter, Monica Gail White; two sisters, Ethel Veazey and Goldie Nunez; and a brother, Roland Copell.

Serving as pallbearers will be Vicki Segrera, Collin Segrera, Neil Alleman, Trever Nunez, Scott Nunez, and Fenton Bourque.

Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Neil Bourque.
