Rena Huval

Coteau – Funeral services will be conducted for Rena Dore Huval, 100, on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 18, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 6:30 PM.

A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Coteau, Mrs. Huval passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at 2:55 PM in Lafayette.

She was the wife of a farmer, a seamstress and a homemaker. She was a “Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother”. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty H. Westbrook of Lafayette and Patsy H. Broussard and her husband Ronald E. Broussard of Maurice; her daughter-in-law, Shirley Vincent Huval of Coteau; her sisters, Agnes Totten of Port Arthur, TX and Jeanette D. Viator of Coteau; her sister-in-law, Rita D. Dore of Coteau; her grandchildren, Kent Huval, Kim H. Guidry, Karen Huval, Kathy Huval, Kay Huval, Kristi Huval, Kirk Huval, Carl Westbook, David Westbrook, Brent Broussard, Tiffany B. Hebert, Ryan Broussard and Megan Broussard and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Noy Huval; her parents, John M. Dore and Marie Pellerin Dore; her son, Alton F. Huval; her brothers, Herman Dore and Raymond Dore; her sister, Eula Thibodeaux and her son-in-law, Carroll G. Westbrook.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kent Huval, Kirk Huval, Carl Westbrook, David Westbrook, Brent Broussard and Ryan Broussard.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
