Visitation will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 11:00 AM until time of service.
She went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 9:30 PM at Iberia Extended Care Facilities. Rosalie was a bank manager for more than 40 years with Peoples National Bank and was employed as a seamstress at The Singer Sewing Center. Being an avid reader, loved playing board games such as scrabble, dominos, Pokeno and bingo, cooking and traveling; especially camping with family and friends.
Rosalie lived a life of love and a life devoted to God and her family and friends. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church. She absolutely adored her family and grandchildren. She had many enjoyable times sitting and visiting with each of them and recounting stories of the “good ole days.” She will be remembered by all who touched her life as a warm, gentle, kind and sweet lady.
She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Joyce Belaire and Louise “Sue” Escuriex; two sons, Ray Escuriex and wife Dorothy of New Iberia and Larry Escuriex of New Iberia and his companion, Mona Menard; twenty-two grandchildren and fifty-one great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Exey J. Belaire and Lionel Escuriex, Sr.; parents, Louis Bares and Ella Savoy Bares; sons, Louis Belaire and Lionel Escuriex, Jr; daughter, Ella Louise Domingues and husband Kenneth; brother, Azare Bares; sisters, Ursula LeBlanc, Ada Hebert, Blanche Bares and Behula Moore.
The family wishes to express great appreciation to all the staff at Consolata Home for the wonderful care she received as a resident there. She was blessed to have such loving friendships who often brought her jellies, jams and fig perserves. We love and will miss you, Rose; “May you rest in peace.”
