A Mass of Christian Burial for Clara L. LeBlanc will be held on Thursday May 24, 2018 at 3:00P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Mrs. LeBlanc passed away peacefully at her home in Broussard on Tuesday May 22, 2018. She was 91 years old.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday May 24 from 1:30 P.M. until time of ser vice.

Clara was born in LeBlanc Community, in Vermillion Parish, on February 16, 1927. Her parents were John LeBlanc and Rita Bernard LeBlanc. Mrs. LeBlanc is survived by her four children: Cindy LeBlanc Beaugh, Claudette LeBlanc Moore, Joan LeBlanc Mouton, Eric John LeBlanc; her five grandchildren: Claire Cunningham, Adam Moore, Andrea Mouton, Hanna Treece, Sarah LeBlanc; her three great-grandchildren: Lydia Cunningham, George Cunningham IV, Kohen Meyer; and her brother Lawrence LeBlanc.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Francis Newton LeBlanc, her parents, and her grandson Toby J. Beaugh.

After graduating from St. Cecilia High School in Broussard in 1944, Clara attended Spencer Business College in Lafayette for bookkeeping. She was then employed as a typist for the Lafayette Parish Health Unit. Clara and Newton were married in 1947 after his discharge from the army. They spent their first years of marriage in Baton Rouge, LA where they started their family and he pursued his degree at LSU. In 1950, Clara and Newton returned to Broussard to raise their growing family in the home where they remained for the rest of their lives.

Clara was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed crocheting, cooking for family and friends, canning vegetables and fruits from the family garden, and hosting holiday parties and events.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and deep appreciation for all who cared for her. She was an active member in the Ladies Altar Society and was a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Church.Her biggest enjoyment was traveling extensively throughout the states and abroad with her beloved husband.

Pallbearers will be Eric John LeBlanc, Adam Moore, Todd Treece, Harold Guidry, Jerome Lane, and Glenn Bernard. Honorary pallbearers are Lawrence LeBlanc and Trey Cunningham.

Musical selections will be sung by her granddaughter Andrea Mouton.

The family would like to thank her caregiver Eula Guillot and all of her dedicated nurses and aides from Heart of Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.

Memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. LeBlanc’s name to Meals on Wheels and Heart of Hospice.

Clara will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
