New Iberia – Funeral Services for Brenda Marie Amy, 63, will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 1, 2018 at David Funeral Home Chapel, 1101 Trotter St., New Iberia with Pastor Joseph Dugas officiating. Burial will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery.Visitation will be at David Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter Street on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 8:30 AM until time of service.Brenda went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 7:26 PM at her residence in Greenwell Springs, LA. A native of New Iberia and a graduate in nursing from University of South Louisiana; Brenda also was a private duty nurse. She was an Executive Housekeeper for God Chasers Network. A loving wife, who married her high school sweetheart forty years later as both her and Edward lost their spouse and reconnected for the past four years.She is survived by her husband, Edward Amy of New Iberia; five children, Brendan Botts and wife Ashley of Campti, Eugene Botts and wife Danica of Rosenburg, TX, Shawn Botts and wife Haylee of Picayune, MS, Eric Amy of Greenwell Springs and Erin Amy of Greenwell Springs; three brothers, Eugene P. O’Brien and wife Joy of Rayne, Johnathan-Perry O’Brien of Houston, TX and Denny Paul O’Brien of New Iberia; three sisters, Jan Romero, Tammy Doucet and Trudy Hargis; six grandchildren, Jordan Botts, Noah Botts, Jason Amy, Annistyn Botts, Marlina Botts and Jolie Marie Botts; two God-children which she raised, Braxten McFarland and Broklyn McFarland.She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Joseph O’Brien and Lota Marie Duhon; brothers, Brian Anthony O’Brien and Mike Charpentier; sister, Jody Charpentier.Pallbearers will be Brendan Botts, Noah Botts, Shawn Botts, Jake O’Brien, Eric Amy and Shawn O’Brien.Honorary pallbearers will be Kennal Williams and Bryon Wooldridge.Friends and family may send condolences and/or sign the guestbook at www.davidfuneralhome.orgDavid Funeral Home, 1101 Trotter St. is in charge of the arrangements.
