Zollie Ernest Guidry

New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Zollie Ernest Guidry, 70, on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 2:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Keith Landry officiating. Following the funeral service military honors will be conducted by the Iberia Veterans Honor Guard. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 8:30 AM until 2:00 PM and the Men’s Rosary Group will pray the rosary at 10:30 AM.

A native of Abbeville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Guidry passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018, at 9:03 PM at his daughter’s residence.

He retired from British Petroleum and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era having served in the U.S. Navy.

He was an avid golfer, an LSU and New Orleans Saints football fan and loved his family and taking his grandchildren to the beach.

He is survived by his children, Nicole Guidry and her life partner Steve Ball of New Iberia, Zollie James Guidry and his wife Josetta of Slaughter and Jaime Guidry Breaux and her husband Eric of Lafayette; his brothers, Robert Broussard of Delcambre, Teddy Broussard of Erath and Allen “Jay” Guidry of Nashville, TN; his sisters, Diana Dubois of New Iberia, Cassandra Mccubbin of Searchlight, NV, Charmaine Prejean of Tennessee, Jeannine Breaux of Broussard and Annette Begnaud and her husband Charlie of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Sydney Romero, Whitni Derouen, Stevie Nereaux, Louie Breaux and Eloise Breaux and his great grandchildren, Conner Owens and Kaylee Romero and lots of friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his biological father, Anthony Broussard; his adoptive parents, Allen Joseph Guidry and Denise Francoise Danet and his brother, Raymond Guidry.

Pallbearers will be Zollie J. Guidry, Eric Breaux, Charlie Begnaud, Robert Broussard, Allen Guidry and Steve Ball.

Honorary pallbearers will be Teddy Broussard, Charles Cross, Sidney Romero, Whitni Derouen and Stevie Nereaux.
