New Iberia—A Memorial Service honoring the life of Mr. Michael Gene Balmer will be conducted on Friday, June 29, 2018, at 1:00 PM at David Funeral Home Chapel of New Iberia located at 1101 Trotter Street.

Visitation for Mr. Michael Gene Balmer will begin on Friday, June 29, 2018 beginning at 12 Noon until closing time at 2:00 PM at David Funeral Home located at 1101 Trotter Street.

Mr. Michael Gene Balmer, age 61, passed away at his residence in New Iberia on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 3:20 PM.  Michael Gene Balmer was born to Kenneth and Leah Rae Cobb Balmer on December 19, 1956, in North Hollywood, CA.

Michael enjoyed fishing and was best known and remembered for his love of people and his willingness to help with food, money or a place to stay. He had a loving, kind and giving heart.

In Michael’s last will and testament, he stated and I quote “My further wishes and directives are as follows…Have a crawfish boil and Throw a Good Party.”

Michael is survived by his son, Ryan Balmer; mother, Leah Cobb Balmer; brothers, Steve Balmer and wife Melissa and Dave Balmer and wife Angie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Balmer.
