Jeanerette – Funeral Services for Ethel Landry Daigle, 96, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at David Funeral Home, 400 Provost St with Fr. Charles Langlois as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Beau Pre Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Recitation of the Rosary will be prayed on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with the Jeanerette Ladies Rosary Group.
A native of Lafayette Parish and a resident of Jeanerette, Ethel went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 12:45 AM at Consolata Nursing Home. She passed away on the date of her anniversary and went home to be with her husband Charles. She also loved to draw and pictures which she drew were through-out the nursing home and was an expert seamstress.
She is survived by her four daughters, Charlotte Anne Daigle Breaux and husband Al of New Iberia, Diane Marie Daigle Kelly of Jeanerette, Gretchen Marie Daigle Fortier and husband Karl “Tony” A. Fortier, Jr. of Jeanerette and Joanna Therese Daigle Buteau and husband Peter of Jeanerette; sister, Nelda Landry Rogers of Franklin; grandchildren, Jeffrey Alan Breaux and wife Jen, Holly Elizabeth Breaux, Charles Kelly and wife Tammy, Colleen Kelly, Katherine Kelly LeBlanc and husband Errol, Nicole Bergeron, Van Anthony Bergeron, Jr., Karl Fortier, III and wife Hollan, Angela Buteau Scott and husband Lonnie, Rebecca Buteau Ruskoski and husband Ryan and Elizabeth Buteau and fiancée Daryl.Langlois; great-grandchildren, Owen Alan Breaux Burke, Kate Hartley, Finley Mayer Breaux, Sully Breaux, Madelyn Nicole Kelly Guillory and husband Travis, Trevin Michael Kelly, Gabrielle Nicole Kelly, Julie Marie LeBlanc, Morgan Ray LeBlanc, Sarah Elizabeth DeMarco, Madison Elizabeth Cotone, Ava Grace Hebert, Vivian Rose Fortier, Oliver Charles Fortier, Luke Marlin Scott, Jace Michael Ruskoski, Jett Ruskoski and Kiptyn Michael Ronsonet.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Charles Louis Daigle; parents, Sylvain Landry and Lucy Decoux Landry; sister, Mildred Landry Martin and brothers, Paul Landry and Allen Landry: son-in-law, David John Kelly; brothers-in-law, Harold Rogers and Medric Martin.
Pallbearers will be Charles Kelly, Trevin Kelly, Morgan Ray LeBlanc, Van Bergeron, Jr., Karl Fortier, III and Jeffrey Alan Breaux,
Honorary Pallbearers will be Al Breaux, Jr., Peter Buteau, Karl Fortier, Jr. and Owen Alan Burke.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Fr. Charles Langlois, various ministers and the nursing staff at Consolata Nursing Home.
