Bobby Romero

New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Bobby Joseph Romero, 70, on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 10:30 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum with Military Graveside Rites by the New Iberia Honor Guard and U. S. Air Force Honor Guard.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 23, 2018, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 PM by the Men’s Rosary Group.

A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Romero passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018, at 5:59 AM at his residence.

He was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era and served in the U. S. Air Force. He retired from H B Rentals, a Division of Superior Energy after 10 years of employment and prior he worked for Norris Rader Lumber Company for 18 years, Modular Quarters for 8 years and also was a police officer for the New Iberia Police Department.

He was a carpenter who enjoyed woodworking and loved to build and customize models. He and his son together painted and customized vehicles. His passion was collecting, drinking Budweiser and having a collection of Corvettes.

He is survived by his wife, Miranda Meyers Romero of New Iberia; his daughter, Danielle Romero of Springfield, MO; his son-in-law, Jason Breaux of New Iberia; his daughter-in-law, Monique Romero of New Iberia; his sister-in-law, Lois Romero of New Iberia; his mother-in-law, Florita Meyers of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Kristen Bourque and her fiance’ Derrek Tassin, Ian Breaux, Gage Romero and Kinly Romero; his great grandchild, Helena Tassin; his nieces, Carol Raney, Shannon Demick and Donna Romero and his nephews, Chris Pinkston, Lonny Romero and Lucky Romero.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Romero and Loretta Maturin Romero; his son, Doug Romero; his father-in-law, Hilton Meyers and his brothers, Lloyd Romero, Gilbert Romero and Harry Romero.

Pallbearers will be Jason Breaux, Ian Breaux, Gage Romero, Lonny Romero, Chris Pinkston and Dr. Luke Cashen.
