Loreauville – Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Rogers Courville, the former Jackie Lynn Hicks, 64, on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Godwin Nzeh officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM.

A native and resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Courville passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at 12:50 AM at her residence.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, God mother and friend. She was a 1972 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. She worked in the fields for Walet Brothers Sugarcane Farm, she was a cafeteria cook and manager for the Iberia Parish School Board and also worked for Stuller Settings.

She loved the outdoors, baking and decorating cakes, sewing, completing crafts, feeding red birds and squirrels, playing cards and family Easter gatherings. She spent years living with early onset or Alzheimers.

She is survived by her son, Scott B. Courville and his wife Crystal of Loreauville; her daughter, Alita L. Courville and her fiancé David T. LeBlanc of Loreauville; her grandchildren, Matthew J. Albert, Christina L. Albert, Cassidy L. Courville, Adrian M. Albert and Cameron J. Courville; her brothers, Robert Hicks and his wife Mary of New Iberia and Steven Hicks and his wife Bobby of San Antonia, TX; her sisters, Esther Hicks Walczak and her husband Christopher of Spring, TX and Shelia Romero of New Iberia; her brother-in-law’s, LeRoy Courville and his wife Gloria of Loreauville, Donald Courville and Roy Courville and his wife Louise all of New Iberia; her sister-in-law, Theresa Louviere and her husband Senac of Loreauville; her step-sister’s, Kelly Hicks McNeil of Coldwater, OH and Jennifer Hicks Brewer of Virginia Beach, VA; her step-brother, Jonathan Hicks of Coldwater, OH; her God children, Kristian Brewer, Donny Paul LeBlanc, Jimmy Courville and Donald “T-Don” Courville, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rogers Courville; her parents, Harry Hicks, Jr. and Margie Ruggles Hicks; her father-in-law, Oscar Courville; her mother-in-law, Anne P. Courville; her grandchild, Baby Albert; her sister-in-law’s, Debbie B. Courville and Mae Courville; her brother-in-law’s, Dudley Courville and Chad Romero; her step-mother, Barbara Hicks and her step-brother, Joseph Hicks.

Pallbearers will be her son, Scott Courville, her grandson, Matthew Albert, her son-in-law, David LeBlanc, her Godchildren, Jimmy Courville, Donald Courville, Jr. and Donny Paul Courville.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Courville, Jason Boudreaux, Robert Hicks, Steven Hicks, Roy Courville, LeRoy Courville, Donald Courville, Sr., David Tilley and Senac Louviere.

The family would like to extend a Special Thanks to her compassionate caregivers, Debbie Fremin, Renee’ Arabie and Terry Mallet. The family is forever grateful for Heart of Hospice Staff and like no other nurse, Alyson Champagne.
