Janet was a native of St. Martinville and a resident of New Iberia. She grew up on Week’s Island and spent her most joyful times cooking for family, especially the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her times of great pleasure were the trips with family involved, a faithful wife, loving mother and a very special grandmother. One who forgave all, loved them in every situation and lived with unconditional love to all. She was filled with empathy and never saw herself in any bad situation and considered the needs of others first. She will be greatly missed by not only her family, but those who crossed her path in life.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Romero and husband Michael of New Iberia and Kristi Touchet and her husband Steve of New Iberia; brother, Kim Desormeaux and his wife Mary of St. Martinville; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Adam Desormeaux, Jr; parents, Alton Bienvenu and Evelyn Neuville Bienvenu; brother, Leslie Bienvenu.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Heart of Hospice, New Iberia Manor South Nursing Home and Tricia Romero for your compassion and care.
