Lafayette-Funeral Services for Rita R. Fincher,76, will be 3:00PM Saturday September 1, 2018 in David Funeral Home of Lafayette with Rev. Byron Aucoin officiating, Interment will follow in St. Anne Cemetery in Youngsville. Visitation will be in David Funeral Home of Lafayette Friday August 31, 2018 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM and will resume Saturday from 11:00AM until service time.

Rita, born in Lamesa, TX and a resident of Youngsville, passed away Wednesday August 29, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. She retired as a Sergeant and the first female deputy from the LPSO after many years of service. She took great pride in serving her community and she was a strong willed woman who stood steadfast in her beliefs and her opinions. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who had a big heart and was never judgemental of her family.

She is survived by her children; Michelle Fincher Richard (Kevin), Elizabeth Fincher Caldwell(Mark), and Michael E. Fincher II, a brother; Roy Wayne Christian (Judy Kathleen), her grandchildren; Samantha Wells (Dale), Michael Lane, Karen Lane (Alex), Christy Bernard (Jade), Sean Hancox (Lindsey), and Joshua Hancox (Cheyenne), great grandchildren; Blayce, Alexia, Hayley, Jacey, Tristan, Shyla, Kai, Mya, Landon, Sailus, and Mara, nieces and nephews; Roarke Christian, Andrea LeBar, and Stephanie Christian, great nieces and nephews; Daniel, Alexandria, Christian, and Aurora.

Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Michael E. Fincher I, her parents R.W. and Eloise Ray Christian, and an Aunt Juanda Sparks.

Serving as Pallbearers will be: Jade Bernard, Mark Caldwell, Saul Duncleman, Sean Hancox, Blayce Jones, and Roarke Christian.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joshua Hancox, Kevin Richard, Sailus Bernard, Kai Bernard, Daniel LeBar, Dale Wells, and Christian Filby.
