Jeanerette—A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Numan Owen Thompson, age 81, on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux as celebrant.
Visitation will be held at David Funeral of Jeanerette beginning on Friday, September 7, 2018, at 1:00 PM until the 9:00 PM closing. There will be a recitation of the rosary at 6:00 PM.
Visitation will resume on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 8:00 AM until the time of service.
Mr. Numan O. Thompson passed away Friday, August 31, 2018, at 8:39 PM at Lafayette General Hospital.
Numan served in the United States Military. His military career spanned from his service in the Army Air Corps to the time he retired from the Air Force. After his service in the military, he earned his teaching certificate and became an instructor specializing in small engine and diesel mechanics and taught in the Vo-Tech School System in Florida.
The one thing Numan truly enjoyed was fishing.
Numan is survived by his sons; Dr. Todd Thompson and wife Dr. Debra Thompson of Albuquerque, NM, Craig Thompson of Brooksville, FL, Scott Thompson and wife Stephanie of Cordova, TN; sisters, Felicia Ansley of New Iberia, and Gretchel Porche of Franklin; grandchildren; Zoe Marie Thompson; Kelsey Thompson and husband Rush Guthrie Radwany; and Jaron Thompson.
Numan was preceded in death by his parents, Eric and Armide Blanchard Thompson and his brother Daniel “Dell” Thompson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Thompson, Craig Thompson, Scott Thompson, and Glenn Pourciau.
