Leroy J. Bonin

Loreauville – Memorial services will be conducted for Leroy J. Bonin, 95, on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Barry Crochet officiating. Inurnment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.

Visitation will be Friday, September 28, 2018, from 8:30 AM until 11:00 AM and a rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 10:00 AM.

A native of Iberia Parish, a resident of St. Martinville and a former resident of Loreauville, Mr. Bonin passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Facility.

He was a retired farmer and then worked for several years with Iberia Parish Government. In his younger years he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with a local band. He also enjoyed  spending time with family and friends, especially at family birthday gatherings.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan B. Rodriguez and her husband Sherman of Loreauville; his son, Johnny Bonin and his wife Vicky of New Iberia; his sisters, Verna Mae Suard of New Iberia and Marie Lee Prioux of St. Martinville; his grandchildren, Sgt. 1st Class Steven J. Rodiguez, U.S. Army of El Paso, TX, Tiffany R. Gauthier and her husband Morgan of St. Martinville, Nicholas Bonin and his wife Brooke of New Iberia, Brad Bonin and his wife Brittany of Loreauville and Shelby Broussard of New Iberia; his great grandchildren, Olivia Gauthier, Sarah Gauthier both of St. Martinville. Parker Bonin and Rylee Bonin both of Loreauville; his son-in-law, Gaston Broussard of New Iberia; his brother-in-law, Ray Allen Thibodeaux and companion Peggy of St. Martinville; sister-in-law, Shirley T. Rouly and husband Eugene of Franklin and his god-child, Lon Prioux and his wife Shelia of Loreauville.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Goldie Thibodeaux Bonin; his parents, Anatole Bonin, Jr. and Clemonce Frioux Bonin; his daughter, Janell B. Broussard; his brother, Alton Bonin and his sister, Emmeline Bonin.
