Jeanelle Champagne

New Iberia – Funeral services will be conducted for Jeanelle LeBlanc Champagne, 80, at
2:00 PM on Thursday, October 4, 2018, in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Keith Landry officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday by the Men’s Rosary Group at 7:00 PM.

A native of Avery Island and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Champagne passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 9:00 AM at Iberia Manor South.

Jeanelle married Antoine Champagne on February 17, 1955 at 2:00 PM on a Thursday afternoon at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church by Fr. Richard.

She loved visiting with friends and enjoyed cooking for holidays and playing cards and games with her grandchildren. She also was known to be dancing any chance she could.

She is survived by her husband, Antoine “Champ” Champagne of Rynella; her son, Rodney Champagne and his wife Pam of New Iberia; her daughters, Tina Sutton and her husband Butch of Pasadena, TX; Kim Credeur and her husband Tim of Theodore, AL and Karen Doucet and her husband Jamie of Iota; her brother, Jimmy LeBlanc of Tulsa, OK; her step-brothers, Rudy Bourg and his wife Savanah of Youngsville, Chris Bourg and his wife Jeannie of Breaux Bridge and Leo Bourg and his wife Lena of St. Martinville; her grandchildren, Rodney Champagne, II and his wife Nicole, Brandy Shelley and her husband Nathan, Amanda Credeur and her husband Stephen, Jared Daigle and his significant other Shay’la, Hunter Champagne, Kalli Sutton, Milissa Credeur and her significant other Timothy, Gavin Doucet, Sarah Rosser, Frank Rosser, Monika Ravey and her husband Josh, Lynn Rosser, Ashleigh Rosser, Derrick Rosser, Lauren Rosser and Bradley Rosser and her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Champagne, Ian Champagne, Conner Shelly, Adalyn Shelly, Orian Daigle, Jakobee Daigle, Jason Rosser and Zoe Breaux.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon LeBlanc and Nilda LeBlanc Bourg, her step-brother, Sonny Bourg and her step-father, Ludwill Bourg.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Champagne, II, Hunter Champagne, Tim Credeur, Butch Sutton, Jamie Doucet and Derrick Rosser.
