Florita Meyers

Rynella – Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Hilton Meyers, the former Florita Romero, 88, at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 19, 2018, at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with Father James Nguyen officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marcellus Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Monday, November 19, 2018, at 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM. The Men’s Rosary Group will pray the rosary in the funeral home on Sunday at 7:00 PM.

Mrs.  Meyers passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018, at 11:20 AM at the Heart Hospital in Lafayette.

Mrs. Meyers and her sister, Shirley, worked at the Rosary House for many years making rosaries. She was a seamstress at her brother’s Jimmy’s store, G & R Uniform Company, where she sewed uniforms for many law enforcement agencies. She was also was employed and retired from the Iberia Parish School Board after 10 years of employment. She then went to work for Wormser’s Department Store as a seamstress and continued doing alterations at her home until her passing.

She is survived by her daughters, Miranda M. Romero of New Iberia, Sandra Meyers and her husband Tommie Broussard of Abbeville; her sons, Glenn B. Meyers and his wife Patricia of Pace, FL and Todd Meyers and his wife Tina of Brandon, Miss.; her sister, Shirley Ann Derouen of New Iberia; her son-in-law, Nelton Paul Romero of New Iberia; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton Meyers; her parents, Edwin Romero and Anita Deslattes Romero; her daughter, Cynthia M. Romero; her sisters, Larlen Landry, Armina Theriot and Dorothy Dutile; her brothers, Wiltz Romero and James Romero; her grandson, Doug Elliotte Romero and her son-in-law, Bobby J. Romero.

Pallbearers will be Trent Meyers, Trevor Meyers, Craig Romero, Luke Ransonet, Travis Romero, Ian Breaux and Jason Breaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Meyers, Todd Meyers, Gage Romero, Kermit Landry, Nelton Paul Romero, Jr. and Kenneth Romero.
