New Iberia – Funeral Services for Katherine Barras Boudreaux, 95, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at David Funeral Home with Fr. Charles Langlois as Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 8:00 AM until time of service. Recitation of the Rosary will be prayed on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 7:00 PM in the funeral home with the Nativity Wake Ministry.
She was a native of Youngsville and lived in New Iberia. Katherine went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Iberia Medical Center. An excellent cook who specialized in fried chicken and her touch on the pralines. One who enjoyed sewing and time spent with the family.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Tauzin and husband Francis Jacque of Alexandria and Jacqueline “Jackie” Broussard of New Iberia; two sons, Preston Boudreaux, Jr. and wife Sandra of Loreauville and Tommy Boudreaux and wife Tammy of Lydia; eight grandchildren, Jack Broussard, Jr, Dewey Broussard, Kerrie Mills, Brendan Tauzin, Amy Theriot, Ashley Hebert, Tonya Boudreaux and Tracy Boudreaux; twelve great-grandchildren, Sara Mills, Lauria Mills, Avery Mills, Savanna Tauzin, Kiley Tauzin, Addison Theriot, Jordyn Hebert, Jillian Hebert, Jax Hebert, Landon Broussard, Emma Broussard, Austin Domingue and Kaiden Domingue; many friends who will miss her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston L. Boudreaux, Sr.; father, Alexandre Barras, Sr.; mother, Editha Breaux Barras; siblings, Sidney Barras, Leston Barras, Maurice Barras, Edwin Barras, Wesley Barras, Madelle Johnson, Edeze Breaux, Una Migues and Alexandre Barras, Jr,; son-in-law, Jack Broussard, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Preston Boudreaux, Jr., Tommy Boudreaux, Francis “Jacque” Tauzin, Jack Broussard, Jr, Jason Hebert and Brendan Tauzin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Damon Theriot and Dewey Broussard.
