Leonard G. Stevens, Sr.

Jeanerette – Funeral services will be conducted for Leonard G. Stevens, Sr., 85, at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 28, 2018, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Cory Lavergne officiating. Readers for the mass will be Karen Stevens Fisher and Diana Stevens LeBlanc. Gift bearers for the mass will be Annelise Romero, Macie Romero, Karlee Albert, Alyssa Romero and Ethan Romero. Burial will follow at the Beau Pre Mausoleum.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 27, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Friday, December 28, 2018, at 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 6:30 PM by the Knights of Columbus Council 1425.

A native of Olivier and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Stevens passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at 7:33 PM at Iberia Medical Center.

He worked in the oil field for several years and worked for Cabot Corporation for 35 years. He was an avid Saints Football Fan, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1425 and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed the casino, fishing and his camp he built at Lake Fausse Point. He enjoyed helping people and took in many family members into his home when they were in need.

He is survived by his wife, Viola Domingue Stevens of Jeanerette; his sons, Leonard G. Stevens, Jr. and his wife Kay of Florence, AL and Kenneth Joseph Stevens and his wife Daphne of Lafayette; his twin daughters, Mary Ann Romero and her husband Raymond “Ray” of Youngsville and Mary Lynn Romero and her husband Daniel of New Iberia; his sisters, Gladys S. Boutte of New Iberia and Gloria McNette and her husband Jerald of Jeanerette; his grandchildren, Raymond Romero, III and his wife Mandy, Ryan Romero and his wife Sarah, Jeannelle Stevens Wolf and her husband Blake, Shannon Albert, Clay D. Romero and his wife Mary, Jill Marie McKinney and her husband Richie, Scott Stevens and John Stevens; his step-grandchildren, Damon Smith and his wife Tiffany and Lora Morrow and her husband Billy; eighteen great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eval John Stevens and Louisa Bouton Stevens Charpentier; his brothers, Irvin J. Stevens. Emmette J. Stevens and Carroll J. Stevens; his sister, Emily S. Bertrand and a special nephew, Greg Stevens.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Romero, III, Ryan Romero, Clay Romero, Scott Stevens, Craig Stevens and Carter Romero.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bailey Albert, John Stevens, Blake Wolf, Richie McKenney and Alan Romero.
