New Iberia – Funeral Services for Gladys Frederick Guillotte, 92, will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Bill Melancon as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 11:00 AM until time of service.
She was a native of Cow Island and a resident of New Iberia. She went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Landmark of Acadiana. Gladys was a seamstress for Ace Uniform for ten years, enjoyed gardening and time with her cats and dogs. Her relaxing and fun times were spent at Smiley’s in Erath when she was able to French dance to Cajun songs. Gladys was a very talented artist and drew scenes of various cultural life in Louisiana.
She is survived by her children, David Guidry of New Iberia, Sherwood Joseph Guillotte of New Iberia, Gil Lewis Monte Guillotte and wife Shirley of Scott and Mona Bayard and husband Chris of St. Martinville; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; many friends who will miss her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Raymond Guillotte; children, Louis Burt Guidry, Lee Anna Gallaspy and Dallas Marceaux; parents, Azeme Adams Frederick and Elmer Frederick; siblings, Inez Delcambre, Mabel Landry, Grace Bourque, Lester Frederick and Murphy Frederick.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Guillotte, Brett Bayard, Scott Bayard, Thomas Aucoin, Shellie Guillotte and Judy Guidry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michelle Daigrepont, Nichole Daigrepont, Shane Guillotte.
