Emily H. Boles

New Iberia – A Christian Burial Service will be held for Mrs. Emily H. Boles on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 10:30AM at First United Methodist Church of New Iberia. Pastor Craig Davis will be celebrating the service. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, from 7:30 AM until the time of service at 10:30AM.

Mrs. Emily went home to be with the Lord Jesus, while surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital of Lafayette. Emily was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of New Iberia and she was a caring woman with a servant’s heart. She spent many years as a counselor through the Methodist Youth Fellowship Program and she also sang in the church choir. She was a loving mother who deeply cared for her family and would do anything for her children. Some of her hobbies included gardening, jewelry design, knitting and cooking. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and memories of her will remain in their hearts for a lifetime.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 48 years, Mr. Joe Boles; her mother, Mrs. Kathryn “Kay” Stauffer Hester; her son, Howard James Boles and fiancé Melissa Gary; her son, Michael Lee Boles and his wife Heather; her brother, Robert James Hester; her sister, Susan Hester Edmunds and her husband James; her grandchildren, Cody Lee Boles, Raven Nicole Boles, Maddison Louise Boles, and Anna-Claire Kathryn Boles.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Golden Hester.


Upholding the honor of pallbearers will be Cody Boles, Howard Boles, Michael Boles, Scout Glass, Corey Dupont and Jamie Dupont.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Patin and William Boles.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made in her name, to First United Methodist Church of New Iberia, 119 Jefferson St., New Iberia, La. 70560.
